The CVI’s 33rd Birthday Blues entertainment features performances by Maxx Cabello, Jr., Alastair Greene and Buddy and Kim Emmer – all backed by the Buddy Emmer Blues Band.
Maxx Cabello Jr. is an amazing guitarist, soulful vocalist and prolific songwriter straight out of the South Bay area. In his work are the inspirations of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, but Maxx definitely adds his own artistry, showing only influences by the guitar legends. His singing is clear and strong as he expresses his music with sensitivity and honesty giving him a very recognizable voice.
Not only is Alastair Greene a Blues Rock guitar slinging and singing front man, but he has also served many years as a side man to some legendary musicians. Greene toured as guitarist with the Alan Parsons Live Project from 2010 to May 2017. He has also toured with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas and has performed on stage with Eric Burdon of the Animals, Slash of Guns n Roses, and Blues legends such as Walter Trout, Coco Montoya, Debbie Davies and many more.
The Buddy Emmer Blues Band has been an opening act for James Cotton, Elvin Bishop, Lydia Pence & Cold Blood, Joe Bonamassa, Pinetop Perkins, Big Bill Morganfield, Eddie the Chief Clearwater, Tinsley Ellis, Kenny Neal, Tab Benoit, Walter Trout, Micheal Burks, Roy Rogers, Tommy Castro, CoCo Montoya, John Lee Hooker Jr. and more. Fronted by Buddy and Kim Emmer, the band incorporates all styles of blues in their repertoire and are definitely in the “Rock your socks off” class!
