Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstration at Mormon Station State Park on Sunday, August 13
GENOA, Nev. – Join Park Rangers at Mormon Station State Park for a special breakfast Dutch oven cooking demonstration. Rangers will be cooking up a breakfast casserole and a bacon bomb, all while explaining the basics of Dutch oven cooking. You will learn today’s cast iron techniques, as well as those used by pioneers in the 1850’s as they came through the Carson Valley on their way to California. Dutch oven cooking is a great way to bring the family together for a meal. It can be used in the backyard or out on camping trips. Samples will be served as long as the food lasts!
WHEN: Sunday, August 13, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Mormon Station is located 20 minutes south of Carson City via Hwy 395, about one hour south of Reno, and approximately 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe via Hwy 207.
COST: This event is free to the public. All ages welcome
