SUMMARY:Annual Joint Breakfast Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the Chamber joins with the Business Council of Douglas County and the Northern Nevada Development Authority to present this Joint Breakfast meeting. This year\, the program looks at what the upcoming Winter season holds for tourism in the area.\n\n\nWe will begin by hearing from Carl Ribaudo of Strategic Marketing Group on trends in the industry and the region that impact winter visitation. \n\nJan Vandermade of the Carson Valley Visitors Authority will then get us up to speed on how the Valley's tourism promotion agency is approaching and influencing the 2019-2020 winter season.\n\nCarol Chaplin of the Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority is next\, with an update of the Lake's efforts to attract skiers and boarders (along with outdoor recreation enthusiasts\, music lovers and others).\n\n\n\nAnd we will close the session by hearing from Tom Fortune of Vail Resorts\, the newly named COO of Heavenly\, and Community Connection Manager of Vail for the region\, Brandy Thomson. They will let us know what's new for Heavenly and Vail regional properties Kirkwood and Northstar. \n\n\nThe tourism industry is still a huge driver in the Northern Nevada economy and as one of the two "high seasons"\, winter is critical to how successful we are as a region. Join us and get ready for when the snow flies!
