SUMMARY:Giving Tuesday
DESCRIPTION:Help Tahoe Youth & Family Services Help Others\n\nGiving Tuesday this year is December 3rd. Tahoe Youth & Family Services is participating in this global movement to raise money in our digital world by giving on line through our website and Facebook. Tahoe Youth & Family Services is on the front lines\, building stronger\, healthier\, smarter communities by providing Mental Health services in the South Lake Tahoe & Douglas County communities.\n\nAs the holiday season fast approaches\, Mental health challenges can take the joy out of the holiday season for many families. \n\nJoin us this #giving Tuesday to raise $5\,000 \n\nIn 2018\, 2 out 5 children and young adults who had mental health problems went untreated and of the 5.1 million with a substance use disorder\, nearly 9 out of 10 did not get treatment. The World Health organization estimates 20% of children and adolescents suffer with a mental issue or disorder. Many suffer in silence with an illness that is invisible to others. Eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness so people can seek support without fear of stigma and shame. \n\nDid you know on average Tahoe Youth & Family Services provides mental health and substance abuse services to 30 35 children\, youth and families each day in the Douglas County and South Lake communities?\n\n"People aren't paid to care\, the people at Tahoe Youth genuinely care!"
