A Civil War Historic Dressing at Dangberg Historic Park
MINDEN, Nev.- The Battle Born Civil War Reenactors will present their program, "From Bloomers to Bonnets: A Civil War Historic Dressing", in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, July 30, at 10:00 am.
Yvonne Sullivan, along with Susie Giurlani, Judy Quinlan, DebiLynn Smith and Doris Odermann will share the secret of what was under a lady's wide hoop dress in the 1860s. From the bloomers to the bonnet, each item's purpose will be explained as Yvonne Sullivan is dressed right before the audience's eyes. The women will share their knowledge of a variety of historical fashions with grace, charm and humor.
This presentation is part of the park's Ferris Family Speaker Series, named in honor of the family of Margaret Ferris-Dangberg, the wife of ranch founder Heinrich F. Dangberg. The series is sponsored by Soaring NV, Douglas County, Bently Enterprises, Carson Valley Accounting, Horse Tales Publications, Carson Valley Times, Dr. James the Dentist and Associates, Internovations Website Design, Joe Benigno's Tree Service, NV Energy, Full Circle Compost and the Frances C. and William P.
