Please join our club for an evening of “Vision” as we introduce our Aktion Club. They will be presented with their Club Charter from Kiwanis International along with the swearing in of their officers and club members. We will also introduce our host organization Family Support Council.
The presentation will be held in the Senior Center Grand View Dining Room located at Douglas County Community and Senior Center. Doors open at 5:30 pm with the program starting at 6:00pm.
Aktion Club is a Service Leadership Program of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
The Aktion Club of Carson Valley provides for adults 18 and older living with disabilities an opportunity to build leadership and decision-making skills, as well as hold leadership roles in the club. They learn organization, teamwork and experience meaningful community-service activities as they learn by doing. But the most important lesson they learn is that individuals working together can and do make a difference to the world around them.
After the ceremony enjoy light refreshments and meet the Aktion Club members.
