Renting a room or an entire vacation home to guests for short stays can be profitable, or it can be a liability. Understanding and applying industry best practices and innovations can benefit hosts, managers, realtors, the community and guests. This certification course reviews proven STR management best practices, including how to find and comply with applicable laws (and why it benefits your business), accounting practices, marketing and reservation procedures, contracts, house rules, guest and neighbor relations, maintenance and housekeeping procedures, safety and security protocols, monitoring systems, LTR versus STR, design tips, industry trends, opportunities and challenges.
