Storyteller Tom Wade at Dangberg Historic Park
MINDEN, Nev.— Storyteller Tom Wade will perform at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Wednesday September 16, at 6:30 pm. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
The title of Wade’s program, "Jumping Cows, Snarling Bobcats and Other Farm Adventure Stories,” reflects his background. He grew up on a small farm in Michigan, the oldest son in a family of ten children, and honed his storytelling skills at the family dinner table. An energetic teller of mostly-true tales, Wade’s farm and family stories engage and delight people of all ages.
The park’s storytelling events are sponsored by Bently Ranch, SoaringNV, Douglas County, the Record Courier, Carson Valley Inn and the Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation.
Wade is currently a farmer and homestead dairyman with a passion for cooperating with nature. He has travelled in some of the wilder parts of Africa and Central America as well as throughout the United States. He now makes his home in Nevada County, California, with his wife, three dogs, two donkeys and a herd of goats. He is also a regular performer at the Sierra Storytelling Festival.
This is a free outdoor event. The park is located at 1450 Hwy 88, ¼ mile north of the Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Dogs are not permitted in the park, with the exception of certified service animals.
