Honoring WWII veterans will bring aircraft including the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine” WWII Heavy Bomber, Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” WWII Heavy Bomber and P-51 Mustang fighter that will arrive at Minden-Tahoe Airport at noon on June 2 and will be on display until noon on June 4. Ground tours and display hours will be held from 12- 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2; 9 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3; and from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4. This is a rare opportunity to visit, explore and learn more about these unique and rare treasures of aviation history.
Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out and WWII Veterans can tour through the aircraft at no cost. For an up-close viewing and tour through the aircraft the cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Discounted rates for school groups are also offered. Visitors can experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a 30-minute flight aboard the B24 for $400, or the B-17 and B-24 for $450 per person. The P-51 flights are $2,200 for a half hour and $3,200 for a full hour.
