Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day and we’ll be celebrating in Katie’s and at the casino bars. Regulars in Katie’s already know we are so pro-corned beef that we offer Corned Beef Hash every morning . . . and both Corned Beef Sandwiches and Corned Beef and Cabbage (with carrots, potato and creamy horseradish sauce) every day. And rest assured we’ll have extra supply on hand Saturday!! At the cabaret bar, CV Steak bar and in the cabaret lounge, where many will be watching the plethora of Saturday NCAA Tournament basketball games, we’re adding a St. Patrick’s Day Slider Basket for the day featuring 2 Corned Beef and Cabbage Sliders served with mustard and fries for $6.99. Our beer won’t be green on Saturday – but you’ll keep more of the green in your pocket since a large draft is only $2 at the casino bars on St. Patrick’s Day.

General Membership Luncheon - March 2018


 

We are pleased to welcome the four candidates for Douglas County Sheriff as our speakers at this month's luncheon. Each of the candidates; David Brady, Captain Dan Coverly, Captain Joe Duffy and Dean Paris will have a chance to speak to the attendees about what they feel the key issues facing the department are and how and why they would deal with those issues. 

Beginning this month, we have changed the luncheon price to $25. Our member restaurants have seen their costs go up and that has increased our cost as well. 
One additional change is that a raffle ticket will be included with each ticket purchase (you'll still be able to buy more) and we are asking our Businesses of the Month to take extra care in making sure each of the three raffle prizes has a value of $50 or more. Our Business of the Month this month is Nevada Joe's Coffee on Main. 


Remember, there's still an extra free raffle for those that sign up and pay on line!!! To receive the member rate, you must log in as a member. If you have any issues logging in, let us know and we will make sure to get you squared away.

Bingo Night on the 2nd and 4th Friday of Each Month.  Doors open at 6pm with a warm up game starting at 7pm.  The event is open to the public and cash prizes will be awarded.  Because of the cash awards, no one under the age of 21 can be admitted as required by the Nevada Gaming control Board.  The $21 Minimum package includes a 3-card warm-up, a 10-card play package, and a blackout/progressive card.  Additional cards may be purchased.  A progressive jackpot is available each night.  Complementary coffee and popcorn is available.  Nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, bottled water, and soft drinks can be purchased. 

Each year the council selects up to 5 Bingo's to raise money for Carson Valley community service organizations.

Gotta Dance is a community event that provides great entertainment – with a dose of healthy competition – while raising money for Suicide Prevention Network, a non-profit organization. Gotta Dance is our only fundraiser for the year and provides us with the financial means to continue our mission to provide suicide prevention, intervention, education and support services for all of Douglas County. Dancers and spectators alike will not only be participating in a fun and entertaining event, but will be helping us raise the money we need to operate Suicide Prevention Network educational training, presentations and support groups.

Mar 24    Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley "Ham Bingo"
It's almost time again to empty your piggy bank! The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley will be hosting its annual Ham Bingo on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the C.V.I.C. Hall in Minden. There will be two sessions, the first is at 3 pm, the second is 6 pm.

Bingo cards are 3 games for a $1.00 and there is no limit to the number of cards an individual may play. Games will last until all hams are given away and an exciting grand prize is awarded for each session. Tickets will be for sale at all sessions for raffle prizes. Free popcorn and coffee will be available; hot dogs, chips, water and soft drinks available for purchase.

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley provide the hams and the grand prizes. Raffle prizes are donated by community businesses. Proceeds from the event will be used to support organizations that focus on the children in Carson Valley.
