YERINGTON, Nev. – Join park staff on a moderate 4-mile round-trip hike along the East Walker River at the Pitchfork Ranch.
 
The route will follow an old ranch road for about 1.5 miles and then climb a hill to the ridgetop along rocky and uneven ground to a scenic overlook. Participants will enjoy a round of sparkling cider to celebrate the New Year! Along the way, park staff will discuss the current and future developments of the new state park and highlight a variety of flora and fauna of the region.
 
The hike will take approximately 2.5 hours. Please bring water, dress for the weather and wear comfortable hiking shoes.
 
WHEN: Tuesday, January 1, 2019, 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
 
WHERE: Please meet at the Visitor Center at Walker River State Recreation Area, Pitchfork Ranch, 211 E. Walker Rd., Yerington, NV 89447.  Directions from Yerington: drive south on highway 208 and turn left on East Walker Road. Continue 4 miles to the entrance of the Pitchfork Ranch.
 
COST:  The event is free, however the $5 Day Use fee per vehicle still applies.

They will be rolling out a report that focuses on the real numbers as they could occur in Nevada. You'll be surprised at what the dollars can be for rural communities.

Eagles & Agriculture, Carson Valley's annual gathering of eagles and celebration of agriculture, will take place January 24th through the 27th. As always, we will offer a variety of tours and events through the 4 days highlighting the seasonal arrival of bald and golden eagles (and other raptors) in our valley and the role that the ranching community plays in providing habitat for wildlife.
Traditionally, all of our offerings do sell out in advance. We strongly encourage you to make your reservations with payment to secure your place. The best way to make reservations is to download the Event Schedule and select the parts of Eagles & Ag you want to attend before clicking on the 'Register Now' button. Once you begin the online process, you will be able to select the specific tours you want. All reservations must be prepaid entirely. 
If you prefer, you may download the Registration form, print it out, fill it in and mail it to us with payment. You may also call us directly at 775-782-8144 to make your reservations and pay with a credit card. We are open Monday though Friday from 8 to 5 and are closed on weekends and holidays.

Bingo Night on the 2nd and 4th Friday of Each Month.  Doors open at 6pm with a warm up game starting at 7pm.  The event is open to the public and cash prizes will be awarded.  Because of the cash awards, no one under the age of 21 can be admitted as required by the Nevada Gaming control Board.  The $21 Minimum package includes a 3-card warm-up, a 10-card play package, and a blackout/progressive card.  Additional cards may be purchased.  A progressive jackpot is available each night.  Complementary coffee and popcorn is available.  Nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, bottled water, and soft drinks can be purchased. 

Each year the council selects up to 5 Bingo's to raise money for Carson Valley community service organizations.
